Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Class Teacher- Miss Rawle

Teaching assistant- Miss Hankin

Here we are dressed up for World Book Day! We had a lovely day enjoying books and ended the day hearing a story from Miss Leyland, eating yummy biscuits while Miss Rawle went to Reception class!

As part of our Autumn vehicle (A right royal affair) we visited Chatsworth House. The rain poured but that didn't dampen the spirits of Year 2 and we had a fantastic day.  How incredible is that sky behind us?!

We had a very special visitor to Y2 who answered all of our questions. Queen Elizabeth II told us about her beloved dogs, her family and her favourite things to do!

We ended our vehicle with a royal party at Heath House. We had cakes, juice and party food and danced the afternoon away with our friends. We decorated the venue ourselves and even hung our very own self portraits on the walls.

Spring term Vehicle- Great Fire of London

Year 2 threw themselves into this topic and were very enthusiastic with their learning. Y2 could answer almost any question about the Great Fire of London now!

We visited Ford Green Hall, a traditional Tudor house similar to those in 1666 during the GFoL. We met Samuel Pepys and had a tour of the house. We had a lovely day and even got to take a topic box back to school with artefacts and resources from the GFoL.

We were visited by Dave from Cheadle Fire station who came to talk to us about the changes in the fire service since 1666.
