Cultural Capital

In addition to the National Curriculum objectives, the Geography curriculum at St Thomas' Primary Schools is enriched with a range of extra-curricular activities designed to enhance the learning experience of our learners and increase their cultural capital. These enrichment opportunities include:

• Trips within the local area e.g. Learning Walks around the local area,

• Trips beyond the local area e.g. fieldwork looking at rivers ,

• Inviting visitors into school e.g. Western Power workshops on sustainability, 

• Researching community and charity work, linked to our ongoing support of Mary's meals,  and more local charities such as the local foodbanks in nearby towns.
