Children should look at the top number by the wheel. Then choose the number that will make 10 when added to this number. If correct you will save the whale. 

Children can work out the correct answer by adding the 2 together, by counting on from the first number, by sing their fingers eg. the first number is 3 so I will out 3 fingers up. I have 7 fingers down so this is the number I need to make 10.
