First Holy Communion

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion
In Year 3, children are invited to prepare for and receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, should they and their families choose to do so. This is a very special step in a child’s faith journey, as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time and grow closer to Him through this sacred celebration.

Preparation for the sacrament is supported by both the school and the parish, with children taking part in a programme of learning, reflection, and prayer. Parents play an important role too, walking alongside their child as they deepen their understanding of the Mass and the meaning of Holy Communion.

This is a joyful and memorable milestone, marking the children’s growing relationship with God and their place within the parish community.
